It was one of the last blast's for one of the RAF's Jaguar. It was taken in North Wales.

Tell me more about that place. I see photos from that location all the time. How does it work? Does the military use it non-stop all day long, or are you sitting around for hours on end waiting for a special surprise? I wish they had some place like that here in the States.

From what I've read from our friends accross the pond, it can be very hit or miss. You might not see anything for days then get one very busy day. Or you might get a week of one or two planes a day only.

We do have places like this in the US but they're off in God-forsaken corners of the Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California deserts hours from any civilization.

Jay is quite correct about being hours from civilization. I have been in a few of these places, and received quite the show, so to speak. I've also seen mid-air refueling take place, way up in the atmosphere from a ground altitude of 8,000 Ft. New Mexico is a wonderful place to see Military Aviation, especially, when they buzz the hard deck for their missions, and that hard deck is only a few hundred feet above the ground, where your standing :D
