Hello...Fairly New to Serious Photography

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I notice that a lot of people frame or matte their pictures in various ways. I was wondering if there are any particular ways that are generally more accepted than others or if someone might know where a good article or tutorial on the topic might be found? Any help would be awesome.

Good question. Digitally for when I post photographs online. However, I also plan on making prints of some of my photos so I suppose both. Thanks

I'm sure it's been discussed in "Post Processing", too.
The few times that I want one, I usually just make my own at the time.
As to mattes for print, I've screwed up enough to have them cut at the local art supplies store. ;-)
