Just purchased a D2000 great camera if a little dated. Im now trying to connect firewire to my laptop and windows is not playing ball Running windows XP. i think i might need a driver or perhaps the cable is wrong (6pin - 4pin) i think the original was 6-6 but my laptop firewire port is 4 pin any help on configuration greatly appreciated......

The cable's unlikely to be the problem 6-4 and 4-6 FireWire are fairly standard. The problem's most likely that the camera pre-dates WXP and finding a WIA driver for it will be next to impossible. It doesn't show up on the Windows Hardware Compatibility List for either W2K or XP.

Thanks but just when things were getting difficult i went to the Kodak website and my life was saved, Drivers for XP available there

It was the WIA rout i followed which led me there thanks again
