Of those who have a heavier camera (1 series) do you prefer the original (OEM) strap that was included in the box? Do you prefer a weight reduction (neoprene) strap? Or do you use no strap at all, and just the hand strap?

Op-Tech Pro is the only strap for the 1 series worth considering. Both my 1 series have these straps and for motor racing start grid work I have both bodies slung with flashes too.

Op-Tech Pro for ALL my cameras. The 20D and MKII straps are still in their original wrapping.

Op-Tech or any other neoprene strap all the way. I even replaced the strap for my camera bag with an Op-Tech. It makes a huge difference.

Op/Tech straps are listed with "A" connectors, "B" connectors and "pro-loop". Can anyone describe these connection methods?

It just loops back through itself ... like the cheap handstraps that come with most point and shoot cameras ... except there's one for each side. Look closely at the image... it's pretty easy to see the difference if you look at the attachment doohickies.
It's actually pretty cool the way it works. You put the loops through the camera eyelets and it forms a slip knot around itself. The weight of the camera cinches it up. When you lift the camera up the slipknot loosens and feels more free than the typical nylon strap.
I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it's the best way I can describe it.

If a thousand POTN members use it... and recommend it... You can be sure it's good.
