I was capturing the ISS as it re-entered the earths shadow and i noticed that a satellite crossed as it re-entered darkness . I thought it was pretty neat even tho the image isn't too great . XSi , 18-55mm IS , tripod mounted . Variations and size adjusted in PS7 . Cs'&Cs' welcome .

Man, you've got good eyes. Great shot!
You know, seriously, you should submit it to Astronomy Picture of the Day. They may not publish it, but it's such an odd and interesting photo it's worth trying.

I give up. I only see the one trace. Where is the crossing?

At the bottom of the picture look where the ISS dissappears back into earths shadow . There is a very dim satellite streak going norht to south . The ISS is going a NorthEast direction .

Wow! That's faint!!!
I've taken several of ISS and the Shuttle, usually more contrast. The neatest one was with an early P&S and was shortly before they linked up or just after they had separated, with different and overlapping trails. It was grainy as hell, but still kewl!
I may have to take the new one out and see what this mission will produce for opportunities. If the skies will cooperate, that is.

Great shot, I was out last night about 11 pm local and saw it and the shuttle pass over head. By the time I got back out with the wife it was out of sight.

Bzzzt! The shuttle isn't up right now. It launches tomorrow morning at 1101 MDT.

Yep, my mistake, realized it the next morning. But it was very odd - there were 2 objects some distance apart (but close considering they were in space), but moving at the same speed and direction. Definitely not aircraft, but space vehicles.

I had to open the image up in ACR and make some tone curve adjustments to see it. Once I knew where it was, I was able to see it on the posted image, but it is REALLY faint. It crosses just about perpendicular to the ISS track.

The second spacecraft was the Progress 32 rocket . Go to www.spaceweather.com (http://www.spaceweather.com) and on the right side of the page theres an archive and choose the date of 5-7-09 and there is a story about the rocket . Very intweresting and you did see a second object . But the space shuttle is up now , it launched already now to work on the Hubble Space Telescope .
