by the way this was handheld. EXIF is intact.

As "first moon shot"s go that's pretty good. About a thousand times better than my first one. ;)

You did great Dave.
I would highly suggest a tripod as the first step and to help simplify the process. Secondly, bracket exposures on both dark and light side of what looks right on the LCD. That way you can select the exposure that allows for the best final adjustments, i.e. sharpen and contrast(using curves in PS if you have it). Using a shutter release cable or the camera timer delay will help increase your keepers too. Looking forward to your next shot. Keep 'em coming.

will do thanks for the ideas.. I was shooting a soccer game(more of my forte) and saw a nice bright moon. So I will keep that all in mind! Thanks!
