We briefly went over his work in photog a few weeks ago and I am completely in awe over this stuff. I really am interested in giving this a try in the very near future. Has anybody esle ever tried his style of shooting with the flashlight and different colour filters and what not?

Troy Paiva posted here sometime ago. He was looking for a new camera if I remember correctly.

Edit: got the name from the above link, but I recognized his work.

It has a feel from the movie Natural Born Killers, pretty cool.

hes using a technique called "bathing" or "light painting" . . just depends on who you're reading . .

summed up its basically this . . he sets a long exposure using a tungsten balanced film and uses hot lamps or flashes with colored gels on them to "paint" shadowed areas of the shot . . he can walk around in the picture undetected by the film because of the long exposure . .
