My missus wanted to take her horses to the beach for the longest time and I scrabbled to get some triggers and flashes together to get "the shots".

We rented out a 4x4 and a double float and set off with her mates at 4am to load up the horses and head on down to the beach.

These are what came out of the morning. I didn't get the shots I was aiming for but everyone has been extremely happy with them and I managed to learn from it all and hopefully get to improve on these in the near future.

Dez (Destiny) is the Dark Arab and Danny is the buckskin Brumby

Very nice pics! I personally like # 6, myself. Now, just a question... You say that the buckskin is a brumby? I don't know why, but I thought that this spectacular wild horse of Australia was endangered. Is this so?

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for stopping by. Maggie liked that shot too. Dez is an unregistered Arab who was abused significantly as a young filly. Maggie rescued her from a an early fate thanks to the RSPCA and spent a great deal of time nuturing trust in her. That respect shines through in that photo.

The Brumby is far from endangered and I believe they outnumber the Mustang is many cases. I believe some specific breeds (loose terms) are becoming more sought after like the light horse breed called "Whalers" due to their historical significance.

Cheers!

I like especially the ligth on the sixth shot despite the subjects are more in the background.
