I'd like to hear a bit more of the story behind that.

You could always crop the image so the "distraction" to the left is removed, though I really wasn't focusing on that other stuff...just the *ahem* beautiful subject you focused on.

Fantastic shot!
I vote no on the crop. The composure is important in this one, I feel.
Just dodge and burn the couple hot spots and call it a day.
Chun Li. Your images are very inspiring to me. You constantly nail the lighting, focus (sharpness), and composure. Keep up the great work.

Another great shot from you, a crop may just remove the distraction but make the picture a little less interesting, actually i find that the dark blob next to her arm worse than the lights.
And on a less serious note what mall is that and why are there none in my malls? I am just a little jealous of your attractive Asian lady collection thus far;)

i keep looking at the blurry person in the bg & back to her again... but it is a pretty nice shot as it is - however i think it would be stronger if you cropped it to vertical like this:

Light seems a bit flat, which is I guess why Yuri thinks she "looks plastic". I like the background - is it a cafe behind? Good to have some everyday context, a warm place for socialising, makes the subject seem more accessible and casual despite the pretty un-casual outfit. The only bright background dot that bothers me is the one overlapping what vaguely appears to be the head of a lady in red. Chunli - you often shoot using this format of foreground subject and background, and while it often looks great I'm thinking you might get even better results if you worked on elements to get more transition of some additional foreground into the subject, and from the subject to the background....

It's a nice portrait IMO.
I like the original composition myself, it provides a nice narrative and placement.

What mall do you shop at?! I like how she came out - nice job!

Excellent lighting and composition. I like the bit of context the left side and background add. And, the dull light in the BG gives more pop to the subject.

Hmm, not when you can't see what's behind her. That makes the background irrelevant unless you're told where it is.

I don't think it's distracting at all.. Especially as the scene is at a mall, i would say the bokeh spots create a mood. Like from what you get in night time street photography.

.... However, after seeing this edit. I prefer the crop :P

I really like this picture. I think the bokeh plays a big part why I like it. The one negative thing I can say is the background lines are not level. I would fix that, but keep the crop the same.
