Hey whats going on everyone, Im BT3916 and I just wanted to formerly introduce myself to all the members here. I have been looking around and reading different threads in different sections and I must say I am so impressed by the wealth of knowledge on this board! The tutorials, 101's, sticky's, and topics found in the Canon EOS section, the Business of Photog section, and the Critique Corner are just wow. The technical knowledge of some posters is so impressive, that I have to respect your discerning eyes, sometimes I see images in Critique corner that I think are amazing and professional until a professional tells the person what to edit and then Im like WOW, NOW THATS GOOD!
The Business of Photography section was awesome because of two threads, the Official Photog thread and GWC thread. I learned a lot. I didn’t even know there was camera etiquette! I didn’t know I could be seen a possible threat to another photographer, I didn’t know I could be undercutting some ones lively hood by giving away my pictures. Very informative. I didn’t know it was a gyp to take photos behind a pro or just take photos and give someone all your work and rights. I didn’t know how completive this all can be.
Just a little about myself I started shooting with a Fuji Finepix 3.2 MP camera (don’t start drooling) and I got tired of carrying it around because it was the size of a mini Rebel XT, so I got on the P&S hype and got the Canon SD870 IS and I love the images and very very small size, but then I started reading some different books because I was getting interested in picking up photography as a hobby and was running around taking pictures of architecture and trees and other stuff because of the pictures the 870 was producing, so I started looking at DSLR. I bought a Rebel package deal with the 18-55 kit lenses and the nifty fifty. Then the T1i released. So I took the Rebel back, dropped my money on the T1i. Then I came to this site where all the 50D and 40D heads make me 2nd guess my purchase lol. But I am a sucker for the latest and greatest, and if I by the 50D Refurbed at I wont have a lenses to shoot pictures with it cuzz the refurb prices it as much as the whole T1i setup. So as much as I would like 6 fps, its a matter of two lenses vs. no lenses. I think the math is simple.
So if you made it this far, I look forward to reading your post and trying to actively be a part of this board and learn from all of you.
Peace.
