Apology

I apologize if this question doesn't belong here but I'm am in need of some info. I tried to sell a lens on ebay the other day and was greeted with some new information about paypal. I wasn't able to access the funds before shipping the item. This is no big deal except I don't want to ship the lens and then find out the money really isn't there. Is this money "secure" once paypal has it in possession? I was afraid once I shipped the lens I would find out the money wasn't really there and would have no recourse at that point. Can you guys tell me how safe this really is???

It's safe if it shows up in your account as "on hold" or some terminology like that. They do that to make sure you "come across with the goods". Once they have delivery confirmation, they'll put the money into your account.
