Very new to photography, had very little light to work with, no flash, just the 15 watt bulb off of the piano light. I love the concept of the shot, but would GLADLY accept advice on how to take these types of photos without the aid of a flash. I think the shadowing says so much.

I love the shadowing as well!

Longer exposure. Looks like you have a good start. Mess with exposure times to acheive the desired results. Remember that there is no cost associated with shooting digital, unlike the old film days. So experiment and have a blast.
Oh, welcome to the forums!

Nicely done. You didn't say what equipment you are using - it will make a difference in the answers. Specifically, it looks like you need a little longer exposure. And practice holding very still.:D I love the available light photos. They bring out so much more than just an image.
And don't believe Dante for a minute - there is huge cost associated with shooting digital. Hanging around this bunch can cost plenty. Unless he steals his equipment.
