I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

Can anyone help me figure out how to light this better in the future? I took this shot with natural light. (a floor to ceiling windows immediately to the left of the frame) Should I have shot with a fill flash to avoid the harsh shadows?

Thanks in advance! I'm slowly but surely learning how to improve. ;)

id turn the standing light off and use bounced flash to light further.

I agree with rebel chick. I would definately try to use bounced light to avoid the shadows.

Whoops, typo. There is a window, not a light to the left of the frame. Thanks!

Just pull baby further away from the wall next time. Shadows will be gone :)

Ha! Well, if it's that easy....

Indeed - moving the subject away from the background will remove the shadows completely. When that is not possible or in addition if the light is too harsh coming from the window, simply place a reflector on the opposite side to the window to provide some fill light.
