I'm a newbie to this forum and to photography in general...also to editing :o . How do I get rid of the "spiderweb" next to the left eye using Photoshop? Is this the right place to post this question?

I don't see what you are referring to. Can you explain a bit more. Thanks.

Just use the painbrush, in black, and try not to go over the eyelashes.

There are grey streaks behind her eye in the black background.

Thanks. I'll see if I can figure that out....

One problem with using the paintbrush is that you are likely to go over part of the skin etc. The easiest way is to select the area that you want to edit and then use the paintbrush/whatever. The selection forms a barrier that prevents you accidentally editing over anything.

1st, make sure that you're working with a dupe layer. Then I'd add a Levels Adjustment layer to that, since they won't make any permanent changes.
Adjust the contrast so that the 'spiderweb' & eyelashes can be easily seen. Zoom in so it's big! Then paint/erase/clone out the webs. When you're done, you turn off/delete the Adjustment Layer & you're back to the original pic without the webs!

Thanks for the detailed step by step....I'm so new to this, that really helps. I'll give it a try.
