Driving the "back roads" of the county I live in, I see many such sites as these. Can't help but be a little saddened at the loss of a way of life. :( Just wonder what stories these old places could tell if they had a voice? I have an old barn on my property that, without some intervention could very well collapse in my life time. Yeah, I plan to make the nessecary repairs. Somehow I just can't picture the place without that old barn!!

Just a little fixer upper. :) You are so right, it is very sad to see the barns fall into disrepair, I've taken photo's of many in my area, I love the old barns, they have so much character.

Here is a link of one I posted last month, in about the same condition

We are currently parked in an RV Park near Waynesville, NC. Lots of old barns around here in various stages of disrepair. However, the campground owner still uses this old barn to store his maintenance equipment. A cable attached to a bearby boulder helps keep the barn from collapsing. I shot it early one foggy morning last week.
