I've had this issue a few times before where i will take photos and later try to assotiate the faces to a list of names but often have trouble doing so. i was wondering if anybody has seen a simple solution to the orginization of photos.

i have seen before others use a pocket/handheld Pc gun that is connected to the camera, once the image is taken the photos are assigned a barcode by the gun and transmitted to a remote computer.

another set-up i've seen is where there was a bar code reader attached to the cameras and somehow or another the barcode number was tagged in the EXIF data and saved to the camera card along with the photos.

i was hoping that maybe somebody on here may be able to introduce me to one of these two options, or post ideas on how to go about doing this another way maybe.

Thanks

how does the barcode reader help? people don't come stamped with barcodes... FYI there's a very similar thread going on at the moment, see http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=690738

the barcoding system works very easily actually, from what i've seen.
the barcode is just a number that you can search for referance, its just faster to enter a barcode than type in all the numbers/letters

on the back of a business card you can have the printers put random barcodes that are diferent on each card, you scan the card, when you take the person's photo, give them the card with the barcode and if they decide they want to buy their photos all they have to do is have the code scanned and their photos are easily found.

another system like this that i have seen will have a database where people's identies are entered a barcode prior to shooting, when you take that person's photo you scan the code and all the invormation is saved and allows for easy location of a specific person later as desired

Many professional corporate/franchise school photographers use a similar system.

I have been looking through the forum search for a while now and so far i have not found an answer however i found another fellow who is looking to the same exact thing as i. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=599851
