What is a good lens filter for a 20D with the lens kit?

Depends what you want it for!
For lens protection then a UV filter

For landscapes then Circular Polarisers are useful for enhancing the blue of the sky.

I use Neutral Density filters for shots of running water.

Other than that, with a Digital camera, you can create most effects using your editing software. :)

Good makes of filter include Hoya, Tiffen and B+W.
