View Full Version : Can someone critique my first HDR?

I think the first image came out ok but the second one came out terrible in my opinion. For some reason, it doesn't look right. Thoughts?

The second image says "This photo is currently unavailable"

The first image is good, though you could have gone further in the shadows - particularly on the windshield and the area of the car in front of the front tire. Those areas are a little dark IMHO.

Could be my monitor, but it looks like a purple cast under the car and on the left concrete column. I also expect to see whats in the shadows when I look at a HDR. It's kind of not there for me if I can't, for me, that's what HDR is about. I don't think you needed HDR for this shot at all although I do like it overall.

Have you deleted the second image from your flickr? It says "photo is currently unavailable"

I will fix it up real quick

I am very new to hdr and photoshop in general. I just went with an online guide that said to create the hdr, put it in 16 bit, work the curve to where the shadow begins and just play with it from there. I have absolutely no idea how the tone curve works :/
