A little about myself... I'm a canon user since I was in young teen. First camera was the Canon T-50, then to Canon AE1. Used to owned EOS Rebel & the EOS 10s. Have been using the EOS 1N for Film since 1997 and LOVING it... just recently got the 20D for Digital. (also have a Fuji S2 Pro for Digital for almost two years now).......

Welcome! I'm new too. Just picked up a 300D with kit lens, Tripod, Omnibounce, Lightsphere, and Sigma 500 Flash after using an Olympus 2020Z since 1999 (I believe). Took a photography class decades ago, but didn't retain all that much. I'm looking to learn a lot around here!

Guess I'll jump in with my intro, also. New member as of last night. Brought home my new DR/300D last night. Purchased one of the remaining kits from a local electronics retailer at their "web only" price of $759 US.
My photographic history? I was infatuated with photography in grade school, had some instamatic 110s and 126s and my parents faithfully paid for film developing costs. It didn't hurt that my father, then my step-father, were both into photography - the former as a business, the latter as a hobby.
Dabbled with various formats through my growing years, found Polaroids fascinating in that I could see the picture within a couple of minutes (thus, the fascination with digital, too, I guess).
My first "grown up" camera was a Pentax K-1000 that I received for Christmas in 1981 (while a college lad). It served as my main camera for years, even though we've purchased the occasional 35mm point-and-shoot here and there. The Pentax is still in like-new shape. I dust it off occasionally and shoot a roll for old times sake.
Digitally, I purchased an inexpensive 1.3MP camera in 2002 and quickly had it on Ebay due to the extremely high noise levels. Did a lot of web research and ended up with a Hewlett-Packard HP850 4MP prosumer camera. Often underrated and berated, it served me well (and will continue for family general use) for two years and almost 9000 photos. I've purchased numerous upgrades for it including lens tube, filters, digital slave flash, etc.
Now, it's time to get serious again. With the XT introduction and the price drop on the remaining Rebels, I decided to jump before everyone ran out of new ones. Hoping to learn a lot here, just started lurking around and reading posts.

I went from an EOS 1N to a D60 and then to a 1DMkII. The 1D is like having the 1N in your hand. Welcome aboard

Since this seems like the introduction page. And I'm a newbie too, I'll introduce myself.
I've been working in a photolab for 2+ years, that got me into digital [Canon a75] which got me interested in manual...which led to a Canon 1000F SLR...and I got my first Digital SLR body about a month ago [10D] and have been happily collecting gear since and photographing every time I have the chance.
Welcome to everyone all the other 'n00bs', it's a great place...I've been here a few days and have already learned lots I didn't know.
Thanks everyone,
David
