Ok so I have 2 shoots within the next 6 months that I am thinking about renting a camera for. I have a P&S SX110 IS.. to use until January when I get my 50D. Anyway I am spending the next several months working on making my portfolio stronger and practicing.
I have a newborn shoot and a wedding and was debating renting a camera to use instead of the P&S. How would I go about doing such a thing? I live in Nashville Tn...and everything I have found so far is for video rentals.

Not sure how far they are from Nashville, but they have bodies....
Depending on how many shoots you plan to do beyond those two shoots, AND how much money you plan on making, it might be more cost effective to bite the bullet and buy a body. Refurb 40Ds are going for around $700. If you are doing any sort of paid work, you should have a backup body available.
Good luck!

Really doesn't matter, however. FedEx is your friend.

I would recommend www.lensrentals.com. I have used them before to rent lenses and have always had an excellent experience. I might also suggest borrowing a camera from a friend. Their are tons of photographers in Nashville you have to know at least one of them to borrow from.
