Did you get any hassle from the police?? Everyone complains when they go to airports taking pictures say they get stopped so I am curious.

In regards to getting hassled, I usually call the PIO office at the airport before I go and get their preferred locations for photographers. I give them my name and when I plan to be there. A couple of airports have asked me to call when I get there, otherwise I have had no issues at all. At FLL, the observation area is so close to the end of the runway a 200 is almost too much lens on a full frame.

These are taken from the road actually outside Heathrow , trying this inside usually attracts some attention from Plod , however this is a public highway with nice big verges . The Aircraft are about 100 feet as they go over.
