Thank you very much everyone!

haha. I actually had more sky and cropped it to this version. I'll revisit it but I think the rest of the sky wasn't adding anything to the overall image.

Great shot! Nice color & composition and lighting. Is it a composite/HDR shot?

Thank you. Yes, it's an HDR. :)

Too much HDR on the ground, not enough on the clouds IMHO.

IMHO you're wrong. :p
Any more HDR in the clouds and they'd start to look fake. But hey, that's my opinion. ;)

I never said to the point of it looking fake, I simply said "not enough". From the looks of it he has a pretty wide margin to play in before crossing over to overdone.
IMHO the ground is too overdone. But what do I know?

What a fantastic shot. Now when I take shots like this why do they not turn out like this?

You mean your HDRs?
90% of it is getting a good shot (well...several bracketed shots). The rest is pretty easy (once you figured out the "photomatix formula" that works with the shot).
Google "stuckincustoms" for a good tutorial. You will need photomatix at a minimum, but photoshop is a good compliment for final tweaks.

Well it's over sharpened on my monitor. And I don't get excited over a bale of hay, sorry. The photo doesn't do anything for me since the foreground is weak and the sun and background is very far away.
