Some folks I met in Derita, NC. I stopped to take some pictures of the oldest Pin Oaks in the area, massive beautiful trees and these folks had one in their front yard.

Post Processing includes a little noise to give it the right feel.

Ok... thats insane but I like it. Looks like stuff I see every once in a while but don't have the guts to ask them if I can take their picture.

I just started talking to them, they were nice folks. Then I asked if I could take their picture and they seemed flattered. I am NOT a people person and that was harder for me than asking my father-in-law for my wife's hand :p

I really like this shot. It's about life. It's not wanting what you don't have to be happy, it's wanting what you have and being happy.

This picture is just plain...AMAZING...I LOVE it. It really reminds me of home -- no joke.

I grew up in a farm-town, and many were not very well off, but ALL were beautiful, and intelligent, kind, loving people. I cannot say enough about this picutre.

Can I have the original, un-touched version?

To capture the spirit of joy and happiness like you did in this picture simply captivates me...

Like Pekka and swoop said, it's about life, not the material things that people assume equals happiness...

From a technical standpoint, I find it a bit amusing and very intriguing that her shade of skin and clothes match the paint of the wood, while his skin and clothes match the brick!

This really is one of the best B&W's I've seen... This is one of those examples of why the phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words" is in existence today.

Amazing.

This is an excellent image. These two people sure have a lot of character. They remind me of a couple I know in Northern California.

This is excellent people work!

This is what magazines should be using. Good technical work, with real day-to-day people!

I would have a hard time not offering this for publication or into contests. This is one of the best i have seen in a long time.

Good shot.
