Did a shoot last night for a friend who wanted some new stuff, and took my crew out...

These aren't pics that she's using for her portfolio, but just some bloopers that I captured for the hell of it...

This was one of my favorite shoots of done so far, just because we had so much fun!

I'll make descriptions for the pics as I post each one...

1: Here's Diana getting ready for the shoot, applying some makeup

2: Lynn (click to go to the "Lynn in the Garage" Thread) (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=62019&page=2&pp=20)called to ask what time we'd be done, so they could go hang out afterwards.

3: Got a quick capture of Diana being silly... You gotta know her personality to know why this pic is so hilarious... LOL
http://www.jo3design.com/host/portfolio/FSH09c.jpg

4:While she was getting ready, my assistant wanted to fall asleep... He was a bit bored
http://www.jo3design.com/host/portfolio/FSH09d.jpg

5: Here's just ONE pic from the shoot, but it's funny because of my assistant in the background... He was (see story below) behind the curtain and popped his head out while I was shooting... LOL
http://www.jo3design.com/host/portfolio/FSH09e.jpg

6: So this one's after the shoot, we ordered some pizza, and didn't have any cups for the soda... So I made her just clean ALL the dishes while she was in the kitchen. I'd make a comment about this, but I don't wanna get beat up from the ladies on the forum...

And that's about it... I'll post up some pics from the shoot when I get a chance, but I just thought you'd all like to see some behind-the-scenes prep work and bloopers than just an ordinary shoot.

Or maybe I'm just weird like that.

Not really looking for criticism, as these aren't pictures I need criticized. heh, thanks.

oh she was SO easy to work with... She knew how to pose, which helped my art director a lot, and she was so responsive! I'm encouraging her to pursue a part-time modeling career! Haha we'll see what happens!

The light is just really nice in the pic of your assistant - and of the model yawning in her sweatshirt. Just what kind of flash was "casually" lying around for these "bloopers" ?!?!?

Thanks for the comments guys! Light setup was just a warm incandescent light for the actual shoot, and then some studio lights for the couch shots... The other pics were just using whatever light we had, no lights...

Shot five with your assistant poking His head through the curtain is HILARIOUS! Looks like it was done intentionally. The make up scene is kinda neat too. ;)

Actually, I didn't notice the rustle of the curtains, but between taking shots, he stuck his head in through the curtain, which is actually a sliding glass door to the patio. The way that her place was set up, the living room was in the middle, and there was a bedroom on either side of the living room. There were two private patios, one for each bedroom, and they were both connected via two sliding doors each; one from the living room, and one from the bedroom. So after he finished taking a smoke break, he popped his head in the entrance to the bedroom instead of going back around through the living room.

Good times!

Here are a few outdoor shots I did before the main shoot:

These were taken at Santa Monica Beach, along the walkway about a quarter-mile from the pier. 40" Gold Reflector was used, along with a fill flash from a 550EX set to 50mm 1/16 with a soft box diffuser w/ gold bounce reflector...

None of these images have been post-processed yet except for 100% crop and framing.

7: The reason for all the gold light was to basically match her sundress
http://www.jo3design.com/host/diana/Diana_01_39.jpg

8: Here's a bikini shot of her right before sundown; too much gold for a black bikini for my taste:

9: Another, but with a new wardrobe, basically to match the colors of the sunset:

10: Another:

11. This one, I shot two because I noticed my mistake of placing her in front of the v-split beams that appear to be growing out of her head, but the original shot had a lot of camera shake because I had to jump to avoid being hit by a wave:

12. And here's one of the pics from the main shoot in the living room:

Please remember that none of these images have been digitally retouched (exc. resize/framing), so I'm fully aware of the discrepancies such as strands of hair, extra shine/gloss, and distracting background objects.

That is all. ENJOY!

Thank you Thank you...

Just to clarify things, only the outdoor shots were taken using the 550, and indoor shots were a studio light setup for couch and living room shots and desk lamp [incandescent] & flourescent lamp & natural light for the desk and bedroom shots.
