Just wondering if this will fit in the overhead compartment of 'standard' sized airplanes.. (Boeing 737's).

Thanks.

Just a word of warning. I've been on a couple of flights recently where They've
asked me to check my camera gear at the gate (Southwest). Fortunately when
you tell them what's in the bag, it's usally all good.

I travel with a Lowe Nature Treker II which fits just fine. Just don't stuff the thing
full and you should be ok.

i travel on average 2 times every 3 weeks - mostly asia and australia/nz. i generally carry my Crumpler Schrinkle (which is a tiny bit smaller than the brian's hot tub) - with my 1dmk2 and several lenses. it fits in the overhead compartment or under the seat on most planes (good luck in beechcraft 1900 or embraer 120). it also does not fit overhead in the upstairs of 747's, but it fits up vertically behind the seat plumb line (on qantas, sq, and united, anyway...) so they won't ask you to move it.

the only 2 airlines i've ever had an issue with it were lufthansa (it was too heavy so i pulled the camera out). and airnz domestic (1 bag limit - they count your laptop as a bag - unlike all other carriers) - pulled out the laptop and checked the bag - kept the camera bag...
