You want to sell your kid's photo?
Edit: I think I over-reacted. Sorry.

I think it's absolutely adorable. Kids make faces.
Personally, I prefer the shot as taken without the photoshopping.

The first shot is kind of scary. She looks to young to have bright pink lips. The second one is really cute.

are you going for that marshall's paint process used on bw print photos?
if so, i think it's coming off really weird on this pic and i agree about She looks to young to have bright pink lips
Kids make faces. they absolutely do but this looks coached.
maybe try the same effect on a different picture. on a little girl i'd paint cheeks, hat, dress. i'd keep the face as natural looking as possible. if you like painted lips maybe try it on a women's portrait.
i'd love to see you try again.

I think the reason i was drawn to do more for this portrait was the funny face. I get tired of the boring smiles. she actually was not coached at all for this and made lots of funny faces. I'll try again
Thanks

I think that if you're going to add color to B&W's, or desaturate from color, it's best if you emphasize color so the human could barely tell that there is a shift in color, but JUST enough to stand out... Like your picture is very bright, so I'd do a really softer shade of pink... But if your picture were dark, maybe a dark maroon, you know?
My personal opinion, but it seems to work well with a lot of photogs I know...
Oh, and just a tip, so you don't lose important shades of depth in your picture when converting color pics to B&W: Don't use the Desaturate (Ctrl + U) tool, but rather go to Image > Mode > Grayscale. Just make sure to change it back to RGB before you save as a JPG
