Very nice!
Could have been improved upon by eliminating the tonal mergers between the background and her hair.
Lighting is very good. The exposure and color balance are also very good.

If you turn it into a vertical format by cropping severely, left and right, you have a very good portrait.

Wow, that is an awesome snapshot. Caught in the moment. I guess this is what they mean by a photographer blending in and getting the most natural shot possible. +1

I think I agree with Robert_Lay if what he means is her hair is camouflaged in with the background - especially for me as I'm severely color blind lol. Still, it doesn't take a whole lot away from the photo.

What a stunning lady and smile! Like the slight sweaty sheen too / stray hairs... really emphasises it's candid. Background's so so, but if you can't have everything, then you've definitely got your priorities right. Robert's right about that crop... can imagine it squarish. Cheers, Tony

Did she know she was getting her picture taken?

I really like this photo a lot. I don't know exactly why because I'm not a professional, but I think it's because it's so "natural". To me (even if she was posing) the natural poses are always a winner. Not sure about the stray hair over her upper lip (the other stray hairs are cool with me).

PS. I think I may consider moving to Malaysia, I see none of this in my neck of the woods.

Thank you all for the feedbacks and comments.......
Yes, Agreed. Eliminating the tonal mergers between the background and her hair and the crop thing are good suggestions. Will look into it before I print it into the photo album.

She was there promoting Nokia's new phone. Me and my friend spotted her and I said to my friend.......she is a good subject matter to take a shot. I approached her and asked her permission to be our model......I explained there was nothing special inside the mall......hehe... and it would great if I can snapped some pics of her so that I don't have to go home empty-handed. Wah!!! she agreed.

Now..... after my friend has taken the shot. I request her to stand at another location and give me eye contact....hehehe......Here another pic of her.......slightly more formal.

Robert,

I don't tonal mergers was what he had in mind when he first saw her...lol

I really like both shots, the first works well for street / candid, good work all!

In all fairness, when I see her I cannot seem to hold anything in my mind at all, let alone tonal merges. I look at the photo and my mind turns to goo. Must have been *terrible* being there in real life.
