maybe this is the wrong place to post it.
hopefully i'll post my progress here. got a great idea for a shoot. just need some ways to tether down a tripod. i have a standard backseat, 2 side seatbelts and a middle lap belt, middle section that serves as an armrest, and zipties.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.
I have one of these that I used to use for in-car videos:

It works great on any smooth, rigid surface--inside or outside a car.

or you can use a gorilla clamp and clamp it to something inside the car. There are some suction cup type stuff that you can buy that allows you to mount a camera, but it depends on how big/bulky your camera is - it might be too heavy.

What if you used a piece of 3/4 inch plywood as your tripod mounting base? You could cut holes where ever you need to strap it down and fix the tripod to it. Just thinking...
