First, let me say I have NO web publishing skills. Last year, I launched my site using Homestead.com. The drag and drop tools they offer for designing a site is what appealed to the neophyte in me.

My sites okay . . ., but I really want a more sophisticated look. I created some jpgs reflecting how I'd like my pages to look using Photoshop. I thought I might be able to drop those in as a page sized image, hide all navigation controls behind it, etc., and I'd be on my way.

Nope. For one thing, because browsers view a page like that as a picture, they always bring up those obnoxious save/print/etc. icons.

I hesitate at the tought of moving the site and all the mayhem that must involve. What's the simplest way to go about designing a site with the power of a desktop application that can be easily applied to a web provider like Homestead?

Never mind; got it working the way I want. Just wish there was a way to block Windows from seeing the whole screen as an image and bringing up those save/print icons.

try adding these two tags to your "head" section and see if it does anything

<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no">
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="false">

Thanks, Swalter. As it turns out, I was able to find a setting inside of the Homestead tool to turn IE tools off. Homestead is a pretty decent place to keep a site, especially if you want some control over the content but have no specific web knowledge. You just can't count on very much help from them (technical or otherwise) and are left to find out things on your own or on forums like this.
