Very nice :) Maybe a bit much hair in front of the girls face, not much you can do about that though.

Yeah, I hate uncontrollable environments, like wind!!!

The pics do look very soft, what lens did you use? I'm assuming it's the kit lens?

No its a Sigma lens. I think they might look soft because of the compression in they dont look that way on my computer for the originals.

If you shot RAW, you should be fine with the conversion, but if you shot JPG, you lose a LOT of quality everytime you save the file, because JPG's are compressed images...

Did you use Photoshop to resize? If you did, I'd consider the USM (Unsharp Mask) Tool, which could help a LOT in loss of image quality due to compression.

My $0.02

Just shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot! I did a LOT of experimenting on friends and family, and I just SHOT SHOT SHOT SHOT SHOT! haha my first 10D went out on me after about 65,000 actuations on the shutter after about 8 months, but I learned SO much from just shooting!

My current 10D is about 6 months old, and I just barely passed my 10,000 picture a couple of days ago. :)

Shows you how 65,000+ shots of experience amount to in how much you learn your camera!

Oh, and try shooting in every mode your camera has... Small, Medium, Large, and RAW. Just shoot the same subject under the same conditions... Pull them up in photoshop, and you'll see what difference each setting actually does make... I like shooting RAW because of the flexibility that lingers to digitally enhance the picture BEFORE the conversion process.

And btw, thank you for your compliments, but I still have a LONG way to go before I consider my work as amazing; I'm my biggest critic! haha sometimes I feel that I overcriticize my work too much, but every time I push that shutter button is a +1 EXP. point! lol

I like the hair in the face actually. Nice 1st shot, and keep shooting. The first one does look that soft at all?
