Finally got mine processed...

I was able to catch Hannes Arch's bird strike on the last run of the finals on Sunday. What was amazing was that he only got off line a little and was able to finish his run with a 2 second penalty. It was good enough for third place...

No, the strike put him a little off line for the next gate and he incurred a 2 second penalty for improper line through the gate. He still managed to finish third overall.

nice, it looks like weather conditions got better. When I went the marine layer rolled in, shooting conditions sucked

I went for the last hour or so on Saturday afternoon, and I'm assuming the weather might have been like that the entire day. [Sunday I think was better]. But I didn't find bad shooting on the Coronado side at all. I was able to get 1/2000 and up shutter speeds pretty easily at ISO 400-640.

Do you use continuous autofocus (AF-C) for these events?

Good example of being in the RIGHT place at the right time!! For the bird, a good example of being in the WRONG place at the wrong time, here endeth the lesson.
