Sale Regrets?

I had several very sharp, good lenses and packed em up, sold them at a loss to get the quick sale to fund a lens that was to cover their range and found the lens wasn't up to snuff, two lenses tried and neither one worked properly, so there I was, missing the lenses I sold.
Tokina 17 f3.5
Canon EF 24 f2.8
Canon EF 35 f2

The "lens" that was to replace those was the 16-35L, I know they can make a good one, as I've tried my friends and it's nice and sharp, but I was very frustrated in getting a lens in, shipping it back the next day, at my cost of course, getting another in, shipping it also the very next day back, again at my cost, plus losing the cost of shipping from the dealer and for nothing. I couldn't bear trying a third time. So I split the refund into two purchases, a Canon 200L f2.8 and a Tokina 12-24 f4 which is back ordered, the 200L should arrive on Monday, fingers crossed!

So just some regrets and a little whining, I may replace that 35 later on down the road with a 35L or I hear tell there is a 30 f1.4 by Sigma that will be available in a few months?

Anyone else regret selling their lenses only to buy them back again?
