got a question for everyone in the know. i've bought a camera and i've been told that this cemera has approximately 600 actuations. if i understand correctly the camera has snapped about 600 pictures. but the file naming like this r0011030 and each time i snap a picture the count would go up r0011031, r0011032, etc. does this mean this camera have actuation count of 11,000+ instead of approx 600?

Honestly, it really doesn't matter all that much then. P&S's don't actually have a shutter, the sensor just turns off, on and back off to make the exposure. There isn't a mechanical shutter.

But to answer your question, the camera very well may have started at 10,001. Or the numbering could have gotten messed up somewhere along the line.
