I am unable to open my raw file into PS CS. My canon image browser opens and dl's all of them and places them into a dated folder. When I navigate to that same folder via PS it only shows the jpgs. Any ideas? Thanks

If you're using PSCS out of the box, you probably need to update the camera RAW plugin to version 2.4. You can download it from the Adobe site.

Rebel XT sorry. Thanks, I did the update. Now the file browser sees all the .cr2 files ( i guess thats the raw) but it won't open them. I get the message " could not complete the request because it is not the right kind of document"

Rebel XT sorry.
The ACR plug in for CS doesn't support the XT at this time and, if I'm not mistaken, it never will. From what I've seen, ACR 3.0, which will include support for the XT, will only work with PS C2 and PSE3.

Cool, thanks a lot for the scoop. Have you heard when version 3.0 is coming out?

I think it's out later this month. Until then get RawShooter (google it), it supports the Rebel XT RAW format.

I have tried PSCS2 with raw files from my 350d and as yet they are not suported so i think we still have a wait till Adobe get the raw converter out in may.

Two other options for you.
Zoombrowser which came free with my XT will convert RAW files. The functionality is VERY basic and the options limited, but it works.
A better, and miraculously free program, is Pixmantec's Rawdhooter Essentials 2005 available at http://www.pixmantec.com. Does a nice job on RAW files and has a lot more options for adjustments than Zoombrowser.

If you are refering to photoshop elements 3.0 it is already been released

I believe DSMITH131 was looking for ACR version 3.0 for support of the Digital Rebel XT RAW files, but it looks like that format won't be supported until version 3.1.
