West bank of the Hudson River between Newburgh and West Point. This is where I spent my first 20 years and drove this road hundreds of times. Always a thrill! The first shot shows the face of Storm King mountain and you can see old route 9W climbing up toward a notch in the profile. The second shot was taken up at the notch looking north up the Hudson River. My Lowepro case for the G3 is somewhere in that clump of rocks. If you find it just toss it in the river. I just bought a new one. :)

Good shots, Jim. I always enjoyed visiting that area, particularly around Bear Mountain a little south of there.

Thanks. The Bear Mountain Bridge is a nice old suspension bridge. I'll have to get some shots of it next time I'm back.

Thanks, Sandy. The pictures don't really show how narrow and windy that road really is. There is room for two cars to pull off where I took the second shot. The rest of the road has no shoulder at all. We (Highland Falls) used to play Montgomery in sports but that was long before anybody even heard of choppers. :) :)
