Any recommendations? I'd like something just big enough to hold my 1Ds with a lens on it (17-40 or 135) but easy to access. This will be used while rock climbing so it needs to be durable too. I really liked my Tamrac Express 6 with my 40D (ungripped) but it's too tight for the 1D series. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After some research I've narrowed it down to a few choices.
1. Kata H-16
2. Tamrac Velocity 8
3. Think Tank Digital Holster 40
I wish the Digital Holster 40 had room for a second lens but I could probably just use a separate lens case...not ideal but doable. The other two will probably work fine.
Does anyone own any of these and what's your opinion?

Well i can give an opion on all of these...so here goes
H-16...Nice bag and probably one of my favourite bags, maybe a little big if you are just having one lens with you but it is totaly versatile when it comes to carrying my 40d + grip + 70-200L + 17-50 + 30mm + bit n pieces.
Velocity 8...you might struggle to fit a pro body in it i reckon, but quite a decent sling bag.
Digital Holster 40..well i own the 50 and only difference is it takes a longer lens, this bag is one of a kind but like you said it only takes camera and one lens unless you get the 50 and stack them which i would not do.
My vote would be for the H-16 or i have just taken delivery today of a Kata T-216 which may interest you if you like sling type bags.
Hope this helps.....:)

How about the Lowepro Toploader Pro series?

Thanks for the replies. The Lowepro looks like it might work too. I'm leaning towards the H-16 at this point although I'm trying to go with the smallest, usable bag. Whatever I get needs to allow for quick access. I guess I'll research it a little more.
