I just tried entering my Elements 2 serial number into the Elements to CS2 upgrade page (http://store.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catCanon) at the Adobe store, but it told me that my serial wasn't valid for that upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be because my camera didn't come from the US?
I'd like to upgrade from Elements to CS2, but I can't afford the full US$600 price tag of CS2 :( Anyone know of a cheaper way for non-US people to get CS2?

I just went through this "invalid serial number" thing on the Canon offer. According to tech support there's suppose to be an email going out with a "offer coupon" number that's just now going out. They need that number (along with your serial number) for you to qualify for the Canon $299 upgrade.
There's another offer for any registered PE3 owner to get CS2 for $499.

The only other way I know of to get it cheaper than the full price is to get a PS7 full version (not an educational version) off EBay or something that can be legally registered in your name, then you'd qualify for the $149 upgrade.

How would they get my email address? Would I need to register Elements? I never bothered.

Doing it now, thanks, hope I get that email! I'm not in the US, so maybe i'll tell it I am just in case they only send them to US people ;)

Last year I upgraded my Elements 2.0 to CS, using the offer for $299 that's only valid in the USA and Canada.
I live in the Netherlands, so the offer is not valid here, but my brother lives in the USA, so I let him order it for me. Before I did I even asked Adobe if it was OK - they said it was no problem, but they wouldn't ship it outside the USA or Canada, so I had them send it to my brother, and he sent it to me.
If you try ordering the upgrade immediately from outside the USA, they'll probably won't let you.

I know people in the US who would send CS on to me, that's no problem. The problem is when I type in my Elements 2.0 serial number it says "ERROR! This is not a valid serial number for this purchase." I registered elements 2 last year and again today so I know it's a valid serial number. Any ideas?

Contact Adobe by phone or e-mail, and don't publish your serial number on the Internet !!!!
Edit your post and remove your serial number !!!
