Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "bubble spirit level"? Is it the same type of level that you have in construction tool boxes, you know, with the green liquid and bubble? Because if it is, and the Manfrotto 055XPROB has one, I can't seem to find it! I've had the tripod along with the 488RC2 head for 2 months now, and my main gripe has been the lack of a level.
If it turns out there is a level hidden somewhere on my tripod, I will feel like an idiot.

Yes thats correct, it should be under the tripod "base plate".
Can be seen in this mini review (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=529785)
#2 image in the first post.
Also in mentioned in the specification (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/pid/14791?livid=68|69&lsf=69&child=2) list, if you tripod dont have one, something is missing.

The level in the tripod is a little circular level rather than the tubular levels typically used by carpenters and other tradespeople. Thus, it looks a bit different. The idea is to center the bubble in the small engraved circle to get the tripod vertically oriented.
If you need to further level the camera, an accessory such as the Manfrotto 337 2-Axis Flash Hot Shoe Double Bubble Level (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/263729-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_337_337_Flash_Hot_Shoe. html) may be helpful.

I just figured it out... I got the 055XB, not the 055XPROB. Stupid mistake on my part.

Get one from dealextreme for the hotshoe. You have to level out the camera anyway.
