This was my first time shooting a paintball big game, or scenario. There were two teams, with nearly 900 total players. I was out on the field with my 5D and 70-200 in one hand, and my old school Splat Master Pistol in the other hand (first paintball gun ever made was the splat master btw:D ) While take photos, I shot numerous opponets, and even made one guy surrender! Haha however I was in a base when it was overran by the enemy teams tank:/ It was fun to see the other, more known, side of paintball. Being a tournament player where everyone wears colorful jerseys and plays on a open field with inflated bunkers, the whole scenario/woodsball aspect of paintball is something I usually don't think about.

Haha thanks guys, shooting these was for sure a different experience for me. I bet even Baum has never dueled with a camera in one hand and a paintball pistol in the other:P

Those are some great shots!!

I only wish I got into photography sooner when, back in Pennsylvania, me and the other local kids would have scenario games in this AWESOME 1960's era 2 story abandoned house in the middle of the woods.

How does it feel to be snapping shots, "Under fire"? I feel it must be pretty exhilerating. "almost," like a war correspondent...

Paintball is easily my favorite sport. I had a Tippmann A5 with a Stiffi 12" carbon fiber barrel. Miss that gun...:-(

Actually that would be impossible to do for me. As a photographer at these events I am recognized as being neutral (some how they still shoot me) and as a result I can go any where on the field. I am even permitted to enter command posts and photograph the generals planning the battles. Yes if I secretly carried a paintball gun I could easily get a general kill but I would never again be able to shoot scenario paintball again because I am so well know in this sport I would lose my neutrality and my freedom to move about the field

BTW Jimmy nice pictures, has you have found out shooting scenario paintball is much more difficult and challenging than tournament paintball. It is also good to see you have given up on the oily Slip and Slide you had at Huntington Beach

Nahh I'm just way more bad ass when it comes to paintball photography and can totally handle not being neutral:P If the red team everywhere hates me, so be it! heheh and who says I'm done with the slip n slide eh? And I've found scenario photography to be way more enjoyable when compared to tournaments. I loved running around on the field trying not to get hit and taking photos of my team. I absolutely love combat photography in general, and have always been itching to shoot it. So this was about as close as I could get. It certainly was a challenge because I am not used to the style of play. But I'm anxious to get out there and shoot some more:)

And thanks everyone
