Hey everyone, I'm trying to secure a position with a company that deals in real estate photography, and they need some samples of my work. I took these this weekend, and I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me narrow them down to the 10 best. I've got a list of my own, but I'd like to see what POTN has to say.
Granted, these definitely aren't the best shots, but I only have one flash and no experience in this type of photography.
If you could take a few minutes to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
Ben

As W. C. Fields or some other wit once said: "I don't know anything about art but I know what I like!"
So, I am as inexperienced as you perhaps but here is my take on the 3 shots you posted:
All the shots are well exposed and compeletley in focus. Colours are spot on.
#1 - The perspective is off and it is uncomfortable to view. Perhaps if it had been shot from the other direction if at all possible. The light on the wall should be shut off, it is distracting.
#2 - This is the best IMO. Small nit to pick is the lamp cord and plug on the right. Also, would it have been better to either get the window on the right completely in the picture or completely out since it also reflects in the mirror.
#3 - This is a very good shot of a lovely room. There is some object showing in the middle outside the window. Could it be cloned out in pp along with the two fixtures in the center of the ceiling?
Other than those small concerns, this is pretty good work.

Cool, thank you for your input! I removed the three from this thread because I'm actually looking for people's top ten picks from the Flickr link I posted, but I appreciate the critique. :)

Careful with wide-angle (ultra wide angle) to avoid converging/deverging lines. Makes walls, floors, stairs, seem tilted or uneven. As a photog I know what I'm seeing, as a potential home buyer who doesn't, a completely tilting 3 season porch may scare away a look?

9114 -- Best angle of that room
9174 -- Good, but you should have removed the car seats before shot.
9138 -- Why is there a chest on the sofa.. you should have removed it.
9359 -- Good, makes room look large and uncluttered (your goal)
9371 -- You should have tried one with the doors open. View look amazing.
9395 -- Good but too much wide angle distortion
9300 -- Good, but you should have removed the box next to the sink first.
I am guessing that the point of the pictures is to sell the house. You want the pictures to make the rooms look large and uncluttered. The owner will be more than happy to oblige you when you tell them, "the room will photograph better if we lose the chest on the couch."

Thanks a lot for the input, I submitted the pics early this morning. Hopefully I get the job and will be able to improve my skills. I would have moved more things (boxes/furniture/etc.), but I was under fairly tight time constraints. Hopefully they will look past those errors and see my potential.
Thanks again!
