snail and spider and beer and a focus problem

Just shot this about 5 minutes ago... found this little snail out my window. I'm POSITIVE that the legs on that little spider were as in focus as possible.... is it just that this lens is not that sharp at F4 or is it a focus problem? It's the 70-200 F4L.

Not too great a photos but whatever... let me know what you think?

I suspect cam movement when you pressed the shutter release. So, you only took one pic with the spider? With "free digital film"? :D:D:D:D

i took about 30 because i only had the 256MB card available.... and that was the best one of the spider. the other ones were worse :-(

Really nice pics. You can see the spider coming around on the 3rd shot as well.

With that narrow DOF, it looks like the focus is just in front of the snail, on the leaf. Focus is bang on in #2.

i only had the 256MB card available.... Too bad. Those are great shots of a snail! The spider would have been a bonus. ;-)
