Hey guys,

Just looking to see if anyone knows what the Canadian law is on photographing building for commercial use?

I have a client who need some property damage shots taken for there website so i am keeping my eyes out for house fires and storm damage and was going to shoot the damage from the streets, however i am wondering what the actual law is on that? with it not being a public building but shooting it from public property.

Thanks in advance

Michael

Im guessing that you would if you wanted to use the photo's commercially..

I noticed that ASMP has a Property release you can get signed. Sounds like you would need the properties owners agreement for it.

Good question really... I have quite a few architectural shots of places here in Vancouver.

EDIT: This is a really good guide to answer your questions btw - http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=73103
