Local league cricket on a saturday afternoon 16th may 2009

All shot with canon 1dmkIII + 3002.8 and 1.4TC. Manual mode with various shutter and aperture as the lighting changed all the time.. but the white kits and all too often white background meant it was throwing AV mode out and only Manual was getting the results.

Comments hoped for and welcome good or bad ..

Very nice work, and some good publicity. The wicket shot (#6) is obviously a good one as the timing is perfect. The more arty #7 and #8 are my faves though. Exposure and focus look spot on in all of them.

You look to have the same problem I have at my local ground with the overcrowding...

I have to try and get more shots of fielders as I tend to concentrate too much on batsmen.

yeagh i am looking forward to 20/20 for the colour and more action. Unless you know the sport inside out (I dont) then its either luck or patience to get a good shot.. Patience saturday as I was there a couple of hrs.. but the catch on the right page was within half an hr of cricket played due to rain stopping the rest of the day on sunday so luck:)

Am on a set fee.. paid same every week no matter what I get published.. this is good for me as its a steady income and makes up the majority of my earnings... print sales and other B2B stuff make up the rest.. just lucky they keep me on over the summer for cricket as original deal was footy season :)

Kipax, great to see you work back on here mate! Haven't seen much from you for ages (obviously that's a good thing because you're busy!). Love the tack sharp results with great colour.

Are you using the Canon 300mm f/2.8 with a 1.4x on or the Sigma 120-300?

Love the bowled and the catch sequence in the paper too.

Look forward to more mate! Awesome stuff!
