View Full Version : RAW conversion - unable to use layer function

I am shooting with the DRebel and just starting in RAW. I have started playing with RawShooter and then when I convert the file to .tiff it will open in PS 7.0 but will not let me duplicate a layer etc...

Then when I go to Save as, it will not let me save it as JPG.

Thankfully I have Irfanview and when I convert to a JPG in that I can open it in PS and work away at it but I am sure there must be an easier solution...

any ideas?

Are you shooting aRGB? That would make the files 16 bit after conversion, which cannot be saved as JPEG. You have to first convert to 8-bit, and I usually convert to sRGB for JPEGs as well.
