you'll need an underwater housing for the G10, its not submersible on its own.

If you want the Canon WP-DC28, buy it at Helix Camera (http://www.helixcamera.com/uw/canon/wpdc28.html). Way cheaper than Amazon at $180.00USD. I bought housings for the G7 & G9 from them. B&H has it for $175 but show out of stock.
The Canon housing is by far the best cost solution to underwater photography, and a great solution to any adverse environmental problems (beach, forest, etc.). If you want to get serious about underwater photography, the Canon case has some shortcomings. Adding any sort of strobe light can be problematic. A housing from Ikelite or similar producer of underwater camera housings would work better. I have used my G9 in the Canon housing without any other sort of flash and my 30D in an Ikelite housing with two Ikelite DS-125 substrobes. The difference in image quality is amazing. The SLR blows away the point and shoot. But you have to invest really big bucks to get there.
If you intend to use the G10 in the Canon housing underwater, also buy the WW-DC1 weight package. The G10 in the housing is positively buoyant and can be a nuisance. Properly weighted, it is almost neutrally buoyant. Way better handling with the weights.
Enjoy
