Point Cook/Cheetham Wetlands, Melbourne, Ozstraya

'morning all,

I'm thinking of making a visit to the Point Cook Coastal Park and Cheetham Wetlands this weekend

any Melbournians online that have been there?

any suggestions of good places to try, traps for young players etc etc?

Mate, if I was there, I'd tag along. I can only guess which lense you'll be using (wouldn't happen to be the 100-400L by any chance?).

No problem Artyman - but if you're ever down (up, really!) this way there are plenty of neat little birding spots to have a look at

the owls are too quick for me...and i need sleep, too! :lol:

Fut - you should give this place a go! One of those well-kept-secrets (he says, broadcasting this on an interwebz forum :lol:) - it's quite close to the RAAF airbase, too...so if the feathered fliers aren't forthcoming there are still opportunities for snapping some of the mechanised variety

but read the parks info first...it helps to note that the park doesn't open until 8:30am......i got there ~7:30 :rolleyes:

there's a little bit of beach area (cormorrants etc) that was completley deserted - magic!!

to be honest, it wasn't a great photographing session, more of a recce - but i can't wait to go back and find a good spot to plonk for a few hours
