Given the winters in Indiana - until recenty we didn't get to spend much time outside. Here are a few from outside and then a couple indoors. C&C welcome. Definately still learning but these are just personal snapshots so take that FWIW.

Cute kid. I would loose the bib and focus on his eyes. If you can add some fill flash I will help.

You might back up just a teeny bit to nail the focus. He is just adorable!

what would backing up have anything to do with focus.

The pictures are OOF and underexposed

The kid is really good and makes for a great subject.

Also like the colour and blur in the background for pics 1 & 2.

I think pics 1-3 are half-1 stop underexposed, maybe a lil pp curves might just correct that to bring out the brightness and contrast.

Thanks. I thought about the bib afterwards. The comment about backing up is very legit as I think I was very close to mfd and wouldn't that broaden the dof a little too?

Nice photos and cute kid! To get better sharpness you do NOT have to back up at all. A more important suggestion was to focus on the eyes. The lower part of his face is more in focus than the eyes and that may be the problem. Stopping down the lens slightly and (or) using a tripod would also help get a sharper photo as well.
