Did this short walk on 5th March '05.

Needed a stop after driving from Mount Maunganui, after a long day of getting up early to shoot these (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60795).

Anyway, not demonstrating good shooting skills, merely wanted to share some of the scenery, literally 10metres off the road. :D

Looking over to the 544metre peak of Karangahake. (NO, I didn't walk it. I was already tired! LOL)

The bridge over to the walkways. The girlfriend walking off ahead. :p

A few hundred metres down the path, road to the left, water in the middle, and hills to the right. Nice

The 1km long tunnel! Most deceptive thing I've ever seen. Didn't read the map beforehand. Thought it cut through the hill, maybe 300metres long maximum. It looked that long. It was 25*C outside, but around 10*C inside the tunnel! FREEZING. And I was wearing a singlet. Couldn't see also, so was strobing the flash. :)

Glad to be leaving amongst such beautiful scenery. (This area is about 90min South East of Auckland)

These pics bring back memories !!. I walked along the other track...not to the tunnel, about 2 weeks prior to the date you were there. None of my pictures do the place justice though.
