thought this would make a change here for some of the peeps on here to see some of the abundance of ruined, nearly ruined and believe it or not some still inhabited castles in scotland


the first is lochranza castle on the isle of arran built sometime in the 16th century on top of an exhisting building believed to have been built in or around the 14th century

next is culzean castle on the south west coast in ayrshire estimated to have been built between 1777 and 1792 ,once again on an exhisting building

thirdly we have dunure castle,this time just along the coast a couple of miles from culzean castle in ayrshire, built between the 15th and 16th century on once again an exhisting building believed to have been built around the 13th centurt

Great shots - reminds me of my holidays last summer! :) Although Culzean was terrible for wasps!!
