I like the second one best. The red and blue seem to be in a rhythmic counter point. Nice.

Well...thanks for your opinions, but I'm more in a bind than I was before.; the reason I asked you, is that I have to select one to submit to a little contest on "symmetries"....

Anyway, the deadline is almost 1 month away, so there's time..

I think number 1 is the best by far. The red is very saturated and pulls your eyes towards it. in number 2 the blue fades in with the gray too much. But it is still very good.

I prefer No. 2. It has more detail and is more balanced IMO.
